Workplace Based Training with Class Contact
The TAA50104 Diploma in Training and Assessment specifies the competencies required to engage in advanced training and assessment practice which may also include competence in one or more of the following areas: development of training products, provision of training advisory and consultancy services and leadership and coordination of training and assessment services.
Units
Students must complete a minimum of 12 units of competency to achieve this qualification consisting of 5 Core units and 7 Elective units.
This program has been packaged to meet industry skill sets and the Victorian Purchasing Guide requirements.

- TAACMQ503B - Lead and conduct training and/or assessment evaluations
- TAACMQ502B - Coordinate training and/or assessment arrangements for apprenticeships/traineeships
- TAADES505B - Research and develop competency standards
- TAALLN401B - Address language, literacy and numeracy issues within learning and assessment practice (Cert IV level Unit)
- BSBMGT506A - Recruit, select and induct staff
Entrance Requirements
- All students must undertake and be competent in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
- Students must be currently working in a role at an organisation approved by ASCET TAFE.
- Students must have the core units of the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence.
Duration
The program is conducted over a 24 week duration with 1 full day class of 7 hours duration per fortnight.

You may be able to reduce the duration of the course by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer. The recognition and assessment of skills acquired through life experience, work experience or non-accredited/accredited training programs may be requested through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations will be recognised.
Delivery
The training is delivered as a combination of self-directed learning, off-the-job formal classroom based training, and practical sessions. It combines face -to-face trainer led theory classes and small group and individual activities as well as self-directed learning (of 16 hours per week) through the use of a comprehensive workbook.
Assessment
Assessment is used to provide students with feedback on their progress and to measure their skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry.
The assessment process will include skill demonstration by completing assignments, written tests, written question and answers, oral questioning and a portfolio.
Outcome / Future Pathways
Upon satisfactory completion of the program, students will receive TAA50104 Diploma in Training and Assessment, Nationally Recognised.
