Cert 4 Training and Assessment will allow you to deliver training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

TAE40110 Units

 Students must complete a minimum of 10 Units of competency to achieve Cert 4 Training and Assessment consisting of 7 Core units and 3 Elective units.
This program has been packaged to meet industry skill sets and the Victorian Purchasing Guide requirements 

  • TAEASS401A - Plan assessment activities and processes (Core)
  • TAEASS402A - Assess competence (Core)
  • TAEASS403A - Participate in assessment validation (Core)
  • TAEDEL401A - Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning (Core)
  • TAEDEL402A - Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace (Core)
  • TAEDES401A - Design and develop learning programs (Core)
  • TAEDES402A - Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs (Core)
  • BSBCMM401A - Make a presentation (Elective)
  • TAELLN401A - Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills (Elective)
  • TAETAS401A - Maintain training and assessment information (Elective)

 

TAE40110 Entrance Requirements

  • All students must undertake and be competent in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
  • Successful completion of the Qualification Entry Pathway for TAE40110.
  • Students must be able to use word processing, email and have access to the Internet.

 

Training and Assessing Job Roles

 Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Prospective job titles upon completion of this qualification include:  

  • Enterprise trainer
  • Registered training organisation (RTO) trainer
  • Training adviser or training needs analyst
  • Enterprise assessor
  • RTO assessor
  • Vocational education teacher

 

 

TAE Course Duration

 

 The program is delivered as workplace based course over a 6-month period. A minimum self-directed study time allocation of 15-20 hours per week in this program is recommended for students.

TAE Course Dates

TAE Courses are run regularly throughout the year. Please contact Ascet Tech for exact course dates.

TAE Recognition of Prior Learning

You may be able to reduce the duration of the course by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer. The recognition and assessment of skills acquired through life experience, work experience or non-accredited/accredited training programs may be requested through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations will be recognised.

TAE Delivery

You will be guided through the program with the assistance of an instructor from Ascet Tech and your nominated workplace supervisor if applicable.

You will be provided with training materials for each unit, including:
- theoretical knowledge,
- self-directed exercises,
- reference materials
and are expected to manage time effectively in order to progress through units at an appropriate pace.

You will meet with your Ascet Tech instructor once a month and will be required to undertake:
- pre-reading,
- formative activities and
- prepare assignments each week during the course.

The written assignments are compiled into a portfolio. Supporting evidence is required to be submitted for your practical training session.

TAE Assessment

 

 Assessment is used to provide students with feedback on their progress and to measure their skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. Students must be able to demonstrate an ability to develop training from planning through to validation.

You will be required to complete set tasks throughout the course of study that form the basis for the essential evidence gathering required for competencies.

A final assessment is undertaken with the presentation of the portfolio of materials prepared by you during the training program. Assessment of competency is through the collection of a range of evidence. You will be required to complete a range of assessment activities:

  • A portfolio of assessment activities, assignments and documents
  • Oral questioning in classroom discussions
  • Classroom observations
  • Third party reports of work place learning facilitation

 

Outcome / Future Pathways

 Upon satisfactory completion of the program, students will receive TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Nationally Recognised.

Participants who successfully complete this qualification have the option of a future pathway into the following: TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment.
