If you have completed the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, then this Course provides the upgrade to a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. You will then have the skills and knowledge to train and assess within your organisation or deliver training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

 

During the Application and Enrolment Process you will be required to submit your original TAA40104 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training Certificate, or a certified copy, listing the units of competency completed in the certificate. This will provide the evidence to establish Credit Transfer of four core units as deemed equivalent by the TAE10 Training package.

Credit Transfer

Further Credit Transfer may be granted depending on the units that the student has undertaken as electives in their TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Once the TAA Upgrade Pathway has been established the following program will be undertaken via online delivery.

The following units may be reduced if student can provide the evidence to establish Credit Transfer of any of the three elective units in this course with the equivalent unit/s completed in their TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Certificate.

In most cases Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) would be recommended as an equivalent pathway for the whole qualification, based on a students TAA40104, as the TAE10 Training package is specific in the units that are deemed equivalent with previous qualifications. 

Students gain the most benefit by reviewing their professional skills and knowledge and obtaining the latest qualification required by industry.

TAE40110 Entrance Requirements

  • All students must undertake and be competent in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
  • Successful completion of the Qualification Entry Pathway for TAE40110
  • Students must be able to use word processing, email and have access to the Internet and video equipment.
  • Students must be currently working at an organisation approved by Ascet Tech.
  • Hold a TAA40104 certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

 

Training and Assessing Job Roles

Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration (Standard 1 as outlined in Appendix 2 of the User's Guide to the Essential Standards for Registration).

 

TAE Duration

The program is conducted over a 6 week period. Although with the distance/online nature of this course students can log on to E-works TAFE Virtual Campus at any time of the day and at any location, to ensure students get the support, motivation, and progress through the course at an appropriate pace, students will need to follow the time lines developed and agreed upon.

A minimum self-directed study time allocation of 15-20 hours per week in this program is recommended for students.

This course is available all through the year and you can start anytime.

TAE Recognition of Prior Learning

You may be able to reduce the duration of the course by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer. The recognition and assessment of skills acquired through life experience, work experience or non-accredited/accredited training programs may be requested through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations will be recognised.

TAE Delivery

Students are provided with materials for each unit, including:

  • theoretical knowledge,
  • self directed exercises,
  • reference materials and

are expected to manage time effectively in order to progress through the units at an appropriate pace.

 

Students are required to:

  • undertake pre-reading formative activities and
  • prepare assignments each week during the course.

The written assignments are compiled into a portfolio. Supporting evidence is also required to be submitted of the student’s practical training session.

 

TAE Assessment

Assessment is used to provide students with feedback on their progress and to measure their skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry.

Students must be able to demonstrate an ability to develop training from planning through to validation.

Students will be required to submit assessments via email to their Ascet Tech instructor. Supporting evidence is also required to be submitted of the student’s practical training sessions, via video, to their Ascet Tech instructor.

A final assessment is undertaken with the presentation of the portfolio of materials prepared by the student during the training program.

 

Outcome/Future Pathways

Upon satisfactory completion of the program, students will receive TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Nationally Recognised.


Participants who successfully complete this qualification have the option of a future pathway into the following: TAA50104 Diploma Training and Assessment.
