Certificate III in Food Processing FDF30110

This program provides candidates with the skills and knowledge to operate in today's advanced food Processing industry. This program is designed for candidates working as an advanced operator or team leader/leading hand in food processing company.
Units
students must complete a minimum of 17 units to achieve this qualification comprising of 5 core units and 12 elective units. This program has been packaged to meet industry skill sets and the Victorian purchasing guide requirements.

Entrance Requirements
- Students must be currently working at an organisation approved by Ascet Tech.
- All students must undertake and be competent in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
Job Roles
The certificate III in Food Processing targets those performing production related roles that require an application of the industry specific skills and knowledge, including some technical and problem solving ability. This qualification caters for multi-skilled outcomes and roles that include team leader functions within the production environment.
Duration
This program is delivered over a maximum period of 36 months (full time), or 72 months (part-time).
ASCET recommends an average time of 14 months for the training of this qualification. ASCET will maintain an average of 50 nominal hours of training commenced each month. The training timetable outlines this for the instructor, trainee and workplace.
You may be able to reduce the duration of the course by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer. The recognition and assessment of skills acquired through life experience, work experience or non-accredited/accredited training programs may be requested through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations will be recognised.
Delivery
This training is delivered via work place based learning. Trainees are guided through the program with the assistance of an instructor from Ascet Tech and the workplace supervisor. Ascet Tech will make monthly face-to-face contact with the trainee and the workplace supervisor.
All trainees are required to be withdrawn from routine work duties for a minimum period of 3 hours per week averaged over four week cycle for the purpose of undertaking structured training/learning activities (pro rata for part time).

Assessment
Assessment is used to provide students with feedback on their progress and to measure their skill and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. Students will be required to complete a range of assessment activities including a portfolio of workbooks, activities, documents and assignments, observations in the workplace and oral questioning.
Outcome/Future Pathways
Upon satisfactory completion of the program, students will receive FDF30110 Certificate III in Food Processing.
Participants who successfully complete this qualifiaction have the option of a future pathway into the FDF40110 Certificate IV in food Processing, or a range of other qualifications at this level.
